Welcome to On the Beach RV Park

Golf Cart Access & Beach Cart Rules

One of the best parts of staying at On The Beach RV Park is our location on the east side of Highway 361. Guests staying with us can drive their golf carts into town, which is NOT allowed from many resorts on the west side of the highway. This makes it easy and fun to get to the beach, restaurants, and shops without needing your car.

Before you head out, make sure you know the local rules. Golf carts are considered motor vehicles and must be driven safely and legally. Please follow the link below to learn about the current regulations from the City of Port Aransas. 

Vehicle beach passes are available for purchase at the resort and during online checkout! 

Beach Cart Rules

  • Golf carts must follow most traffic laws, including seat belt use, child car seats, open container laws, and DWI restrictions.

  • If you bring your own golf cart, it must be registered with the City of Port Aransas.

  • The beach is classified as a city street.

  • Drivers must have a valid driver’s license or operator’s permit.

  • Golf carts are not allowed on Highway 361 south of the Avenue G intersection.

  • Stay to the right and let faster vehicles pass.

  • Do not drive golf carts on sidewalks, walking paths, parks, school grounds, or other non-vehicle areas.

  • Everyone must be seated in a proper seat while the cart is moving.

  • No one may ride in the lap of another person.

Boating

Fishing isn’t the only way to get to know the coastal bend. While dolphins abound as Port Aransas is one of the best places to go Dolphin sightseeing in the United States, they aren’t the only creatures you’ll run into! Kayaking, surfing, parasailing and kiteboarding are among the many ways for the waterlogged to travel on the Texas Coast. Bring your own, or rent your gear from experts here.

Birdwatching

Come and visit the "Birdiest Spot in Texas”, Leonabelle Turnbull’s Birding Center is home to native coastal wetlands and all the creatures that inhabit it. A hidden gem, free guided tours are present, as visitors may spot birds, alligators, fish and more. The Great Texas Coastal birding trail winds through over 40 Texas counties, encompassing the entire coastal region. Known to novices and master anglers alike as the “Fishing Capital of Texas”, Port Aransas can offer challenges and rewards to those who cast rod and reels.
